Job Description:
R & D Project Manager (Packaging and Food Technology) The primary role of this position is to lead the research, testing and development of new innovative packaging solutions for our products to further differentiate the company Brand to consumers. In addition to the packaging role, this position supports the Department in the daily activities within New Product Development and R&D.

Essential Functions
  • Research, recommend, develop and test new packaging solutions for the full line of products to achieve goals of quality enhancement, shelf life extension, simplicity for end user, appearance and cost.
  • Take all measures to ensure distributor / customer total satisfaction.
  • Schedule with operations and or equipment companies/co-packers production of prototypes, samples and production.
  • Schedule design reviews at appropriate stages with Director of R&D and departments, such as Sales, Marketing etc.
  • Supervise and perform the daily projects as assigned by Director of R&D.
  • Attend interdepartmental or cross-functional meetings as needed to discuss new/existing product and project progress/issues.
  • Maintain accurate records on project files, milestone charts, design reviews, product formulations, yield data, procedures and costing analysis pertinent to one-s own projects and for all project leader driven projects.
  • Work closely with consultants on NPD projects to streamline product development and start-up.
  • Monitor sample requests for presentations and reviews.
  • Ensure all new associates are properly trained and understand all processes.
  • Exercises excellent leadership and communication
